Since I was young, I have been fascinated by the construction industry and the engineering of massive structures. In addition to the popular cartoons of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, I loved watching shows that focused on the design and construction of roller coasters, massive skyscrapers, dams, bridges, and other infrastructure projects. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in the spring of 2018. While considering the career path I wanted, I spent time working for a local government, a multinational entertainment and theme park company, and living overseas before coming back to Cincinnati and joining THP in the summer of 2019.
Working for a structural engineering firm allows me to see all aspects of a project, from the initial stages of planning to design and construction. One of the most gratifying aspects of the job is seeing something I have designed come to life, and then pointing to friends and family and saying, “I helped with that!” THP also gives me the opportunity to work with a variety of external parties, like owners, architects, and contractors.
My biggest passion in life is traveling. I love exploring other cities and countries, trying new foods, seeing diverse cultures, and meeting new people. My dream is to either retire young enough to continue traveling the world, or, more realistically, travel for work. Either way, I will be planning my next stop! When I am not heading to a new place, you can find me out in the woods hiking, backpacking, biking, running, cooking, baking, or cheering on our local sports teams.
